Developed new teaching format – STUDIO pilot Real – Live – Date – Open

Testing new teaching and learning methodologies started with Trondheim, NTNU, Norway staff training and subsequent workshops and semesters to follow as pilot projects for upgrading the curriculum – cooperation with real sector. All relevant teaching staff and students from WB and EU will have joint Workshops as pilot actions on testing the new curriculum.
Innovated Studio / curriculum: Studio content and project briefs will be the result of research and vetting the needs of external stakeholders and choosing appropriate task for the initial phases of the project. Recommendation would be a project and site of public interest, of smaller scale but with a meaningful impact. As the project progresses and extends into following semester, Studio leaders will choose assignments according to the needs of all stakeholders.
Methodology of Studio work is directed as analytical, participative, creative and is based on good practice examples. Even though these are not revolutionary methods themselves they make up a significant shift from the current practice. The jury for evaluation of the projects will not be only compose of academic staff but will also include the architectural profession and other involved stakeholders.
The results and outcomes of this Project will have a lasting impact on academic program in architecture studio and teaching methods. Its essence is not in creating more content but rather shifting it to real-life architecture/urban issues. This shift can occur in many different forms and will have a different impact on each Partner institution. It can also provide insight for students for their next step which is real clients, budget, timeline, constraints, administrative and legal boundaries, and most important tangible outcomes.
